We don’t care if you went to school for music business.
Honestly, we truly don’t care if you have a degree at all.
We’re just tickled you actually read the front page and have an attention to detail!

The ideal candidate to work at Well Kept Secret is:
  • a kind, thoughtful, decent human being that treats others with respect (this is the most important)
  • highly organized but willing & eager to break some rules
  • a natural leader who is interested in building communities
  • an expert level social media user with a healthy cynicism about it’s influence on society
  • someone who has been “on tour” before and understands the life of a musician
  • comfortable with computers and data entry and understands the power of details
  • a go-getter that has dabbled in & is enthusiastic about artist management
  • an entreprenurial spirit that wants to be encouraged to chase a good idea
  • someone who thinks of this business as a public service and not an exercise in ego
  • highly communicative but self-aware enough to know when to zip it
  • someone who believes in the power of music & art to improve our world

We’d love for you to be proficient at the following:
  • Google Drive and all it’s various mechanisms
  • Social media:  Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc
  • Adobe Creative Suite:  Photoshop, Premiere, etc
  • YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, any/all DSPs

Bonus points if you are familiar with:
  • Infinite Catalog
  • Quickbooks
  • General post office etiquette
  • The global indie record store landscape
  • Master Tour
  • Press releases & mailing lists
  • Cargo/Squarespace

And the ever-so-desired special stars will appear on your application if you:
  • Understand why e-mail/texts create paper trails and why we like to communicate that way
  • Actually play an instrument and/or actively create music/art
  • Have ever worked at a record store/record label/artist management company
  • Would rather get shit done than have another meeting about it
